I want to congratulate you on the great success of the Global Business and Technology Association (GBATA) 19th Annual International Conference in Vienna, Austria. We all thank you in person and in writing. For me the conference included a pleasant reunion with colleagues who also addressed the conference in Helsinki. Returning to Vienna was special too. Perhaps enhanced by the early summer weather, the pleasant temperatures and the trees in bloom, I understood while Vienna was ranked recently as one of the most “livable cities” in the world. Big CONGRATULATIONS to you on creating and hosting an excellent Plenary Session with the energy and educational technology presentations by Dr. Penker and Dr. Bastaki. But an even bigger BRAVO to you for bringing our attentions to human considerations: 1. That over decades we find our young using more technology while losing abilities to write well and to carry out calculations in their heads. 2. That our American perpetual pursuit of happiness often leads us to dissatisfaction. 3. And our friend from Rio de Janeiro emphasizing that the accumulation of knowledge often does not guide us to wisdom. So all of us go on with our efforts to write better, contribute to knowledge, may be touch on wisdom and hopefully to be a little more satisfied. |
Dr. Robert G. Vambery Professor of International Business and Marketing Pace University U.S.A. |

Emmanuel Obioha Tshwane University of Technology South Africa |
I wanted to write to you and tell you that I found the GBATA conference a wonderful and very intensive learning experience. The GBATA spirit helped me shape the way I give feedback about other academic work (this was perhaps one of the most valuable things learned in New York). It reminded me that good feedback helps others improve, not feel self-conscious. That you are doing a good job as a scholar and a supervisor when you incentivize others to keep thinking about matters and researching, despite necessary improvements, and you are available to help them improve. This is of colossal importance because your area is as important as the number of people that are interested in it, a way to measure its use can also be the number of people involved and working on it. In this sense, giving good and accurate feedback is crucial for helping science and thinking evolve. This might sound like a minor thing to you, but it really made a big impact on me. Also, the talk about “meet the editors” was extremely useful. All in all I’d like just to give you feedback of what a great learning and socializing experience it was and a lot of fun too. Thank you for all your input. | Helena Martins Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde do Instituto Politécnico do Porto Portugal |

First of all, I would like to reiterate both Sergio’s and my thanks for all you did to make the GBATA conference in Cape Town such a success. The fact that it was in South Africa where integration is visibly becoming a reality, thanks in greater part to Nelson Mandel’s role-model leadership of “spiritual intelligence”, to use Mr. Pretorius’ terms, made it especially inspiring. Indeed, right from the beginning, the speeches of the opening plenary session, and later, the numerous papers of South African colleagues that touched upon management issues where the influence of local socio-economic and political factors is no doubt critical, where food for thought regarding the importance of this type of leadership for effective management in a global world. | T. I am writing to express my appreciation and thanks for being able to participate in the Istanbul Conference this past July. Generally, I attend 2-3 professional conferences each year, many extremely well regarded. None of them can claim to surpass the GBATA Conference that you organized for Istanbul this past July. Professionally this conference was very valuable, with many interesting and well developed presentations. For the Tobin College of Business, the conference enable SJU to make a strong impression on academics from many universities around the world. Finally, the local arrangements and activities were superb. For this my wife Kathryn especially wishes to express her appreciation. Many Thanks | Dr. Francis A.
