ESCP Europe

The Marketing Department of the ESCP Europe Business School with campuses in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid and Turin, invites applications for several positions at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor level. The positions are based at our Paris campus with a starting date of September 2012.

ESCP Europe (www.escpeurope.eu) has been founded in 1819 and is the oldest institution dedicated to business education in the world. Our Paris campus is located in the center of the city (metropolitan area). The Marketing Department currently comprises 21 colleagues in five different countries of which 15 are working on the Paris campus. The faculty of marketing has varied research interests and over the past years our publications have appeared in leading marketing journals such as the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, and IJRM. Our department members hold positions in the Editorial Review Board of leading academic outlets such as the Journal of Marketing.

ESCP Europe offers various different types of programs: a Master in Management, which has been ranked among the Top 3 MSc-programs worldwide by the Financial Times for several years; an Executive MBA program, which has been ranked number 15 worldwide by the Financial Times in 2010; and a PhD program. In addition, we offer four specialized marketing master programs: one full-time and one executive master in marketing and communication at our Paris campus; one full-time master in marketing at our Madrid campus; and one master in marketing and creativity at our London campus. ESCP Europe is accredited by AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB. Over 65% of our students are from outside of France and represent a total of 90 different nationalities.

We are primarily interested in candidates with a PhD (completed or in process of completion) in marketing with proof of a strong research potential in top ranked journals, based on various backgrounds, such as psychology, statistics and economics. We are open in terms of research topics and encourage applications with research expertise from all areas of marketing. Special consideration will be given to candidates with a background in International Marketing, Business-to-Business-Marketing, and Sustainable Development. Applicants should demonstrate interest in and ability to conducted excellent scholarly research, as well as teaching competence on various levels (i.e., MSc, Executive Education, PhD program). Speaking French and having experience and interest in the French culture is a plus.

The junior faculty at ESCP Europe receives several advantages, including a reduced teaching load, priority in the allocation of research budgets and high levels of flexibility to accommodate specific teaching preferences. Our faculty members can benefit from substantial research budgets and support of funded chairs. Faculty members have the option to teach in programs on all our campuses in France, UK, Germany, Spain and Italy. Our strong alumni network in business and politics has proven to be an excellent source for research ideas and data.
